Latvian pharmaceutical company SIA "Metfarm" will begin exporting products to Western Europe early next year. The registration process has been officially completed and all regulatory requirements for selling Latvian-made dietary supplements in pharmacies and specialty stores in Portugal have been met.

In October 2024, the dietary supplement "Alco Bye" of SIA "Metfarm" was officially registered with the Portuguese Food and Veterinary Service, and its distribution will begin starting next year. The dietary supplement, patented and manufactured in Latvia, is designed to accelerate alcohol metabolism and reduce side effects.
"Alco Bye" has been available in Latvian pharmacies for 20 years, and entering the international market is a significant step in the growth of "Metfarm". Viktorija Mālniece, a member of the company's board, explains: ""Alco Bye"" enters the European market at a time when the demand for natural and effective products is only growing. We see great potential in the Portuguese market - we will offer a unique and scientifically based solution. The product is different from the others because it addresses the root of the problem, promoting active and rapid alcohol elimination, preventing headaches, nausea and weakness.”
“Metfarm” is entering the Portuguese market in cooperation with “Windy Pharma”, which are consultants in the pharmaceutical industry, with extensive experience in the areas of regulatory issues, drug safety and quality assurance.
V. Mālniece is convinced that entering the Portuguese market is just the beginning of the distribution of dietary supplements in Europe. “We are currently in the process of registering with the food and veterinary services of Estonia and Lithuania. Further goals include registering and selling the product in other European Union markets,” Mālniece continues about development plans.
“Alco Bye” is a dietary supplement developed and created in Latvia. Its recipe was created in 2002 by a doctor-narcologist Dr. Leonīds Cudečkis with pharmacist Nineļa Cudečka, using scientifically proven ingredients grown in Latvian nature. In 2012, the recipe was improved and patented. The dietary supplement promotes the body's recovery after alcohol consumption, stimulating faster elimination of toxic substances.
